Driveclub was supposed to be a launch-era showcase for the PS4's power and did end up selling a healthy number of copies in the end (2 million as of July 2015), but repeated delays and a glitchy launch hurt its potential, not to mention Evolution Studios' chances of survival. Nonetheless, it represents a sad end for the franchise. There wasn't as much incentive to keep the racing game alive with its creators out of the picture. Sony closed Evolution Studios back in 2016, with Codemasters picking up the developer weeks later. It's not completely surprising this would happen. The game that's left will be a shell of its former self. Your season pass won't work online, either. You also won't get to compete against others on the leader boards or share your progress. The server shutdown will prevent people from competing in multiplayer races, including events and tours. Any single-player components will still work, but that's the problem - as the name suggests, Driveclub is an inherently social game. The company has announced that the servers for Driveclub, Driveclub VR and Driveclub Bikes will all shut down just before midnight British time (about 7PM Eastern) on March 31st, 2020, and that it will stop selling games and their add-on content August 31st, 2019 at a similar time. But it is really in its own when you have a rival club of people you know to fight against.Driveclub has struggled despite its early hype and eventual refinement, and now Sony is ready to end its troubled saga. Login to see someone on your team has boosted the club representative by completing a ranking or three is surprisingly exciting, and boost the level of a brand your club more for yourself feels like you are contributing to an effort ‘team. Join a club with friends is much more rewarding than it sounds. Even in the Tour mode, you still have that feeling of rivalry - something that is brilliantly enhanced by the club system. Whether PSN challenge average speed zones ID-emblazoned, blue racing lines to embrace through baffles or more ghosts on the track with you, you are always given a sense of involvement and competition. Better than the computer better than your friends … better than you. It challenges constantly that you are better. Sony has announced Driveclub will be available on PS4 from October 7 in North America, October 8 in Europe and October 10 in the UK. It feels like Driveclub.ĭriveclub is exhilarating. And while it still does not fit perfectly in both camps, it now has an identity. Although it has not changed in that time, several free additions have felt a little over an arcadey experience. The good-but disappointing race I saw in October was not feeling exactly as a SIM card or an arcade experience, which left astride a strange land. Although it would have been fun to roam around the country roads in a band of supercars, the reality is much clearer on what you really need to do every time you play. You choose an event or series, you race on it, you choose another. Driveclub is a racing game on separate roads realistic (but not real) in various locations worldwide. You do not cruise around with your team and challenge other people to backfire lights. Just to be clear, this is not an open world racer as The Crew. Regarding online gambling, as well, to avoid the same problems as last time, which is gradually deployed in the coming days and weeks to ensure that the servers can cope with (probably huge) influx of players. You can upgrade to the full experience whenever you want and keep your existing club. It gives you all the game modes, but one place (India), 11 tracks and 10 cars. If you are here because you want to know what the PS Plus Edition is as then, quite simply, it’s just like the main game detailed below, but smaller. So it is time to assess the experience Driveclub again. Not only editing PS more now on PSN, the original game has been updated (for free) in many ways, our initial review does not reflect its quality. The servers were so flaky, not only was the main selling point of the game - clubs - Online? Connect even today “reduced to a scintillating game, Sony decided that it was unnecessary to release the PS Plus-edition exclusive trial. When Driveclub happened last year, it was a hot mess.
